Barmoor is a very special place on the North Yorkshire moors where we have been having wonderful circle dance weekends since 2001. Perhaps you would like to experience the community of the circle, and be part of a fabulous time away!

Celebrate the May                  16-18 May

Enjoy a weekend of glorious dancing!

Savour a brilliant weekend of circle dance, staying at Barmoor, a charming house on the edge of Hutton-le-Hole, in the midst of the beautiful North Yorkshire moors.

We dance to celebrate coming through winter and into this glorious time of year when the May is out and our energy rises with the longer days.

Dancing sessions begin on Friday evening with two sessions a day on Saturday and Sunday. We dance in the lovely village hall in Hutton-le Hole, a short and pleasant stroll away. There is free time on Saturday afternoon. Saturday night we dance to live music from Best Foot.

The weekend develops a close-knit group of dancers, living and experiencing the community of the circle and going deeper into the dance. With five sessions of dancing and live music on Saturday night, and space to just be, enjoy the delights and surprises of this popular weekend.

The weekend begins with the evening meal on Friday and finishes on Sunday at 4pm.  Food is on a bring and share basis.

Costs are £80—£95 self-select. There are a limited number of non-residential places at £50 for the weekend.

A Celebration of Barmoor! 3 nights to enjoy this special place.

This longer weekend is a celebration of Barmoor's 100th birthday, a unique occasion to appreciate this welcoming house. The long weekend is over the time of the Celtic festival of Samhain, to mark the Celtic new year and the start of winter.

This is a special time too, to enjoy the house, our companionship around the real fire, and the comfort and cosiness of spending time together, connecting with this unique house and landscape.

The weekend promises a rich experience of dancing, activities, stories around the fire and more!

About Barmoor

We stay in a large, lovable and welcoming three-storey house, much mellowed since it was built in 1908. It is beautifully situated on the very edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, surrounded on three sides by mature trees.

The house is well maintained and cared for, comprising 9 bedrooms, lounge, dining room, small sitting room, open fires and well-equipped kitchen. Accommodation is basic but comfortable in shared rooms: three twin rooms, three triple rooms and two four bedded rooms. The house has partial central heating and the bedrooms are carpeted but unheated. Visit Barmoor for more information.

About Hutton-le-Hole

The village of Hutton-le-Hole is a short walk away from Barmoor, via a footpath. This popular village is well known for its beauty and the Ryedale Folk Museum. We dance in the village hall, recently refurbished and retaining its delightful atmosphere.
